Beer, chocolates and movie

I had some lambic beer and movie for weekend treats -  and chocolates are bonus!

I watched Broken flowers by Jim Jarmusch.
I'm a fun of Bill Murray - he's always as "him" and enjoyable to watch every movie with him.
The Broken.. is pretty quiet but unique story.
I liked the Ethiopian musics in the movie too.

The Lambic beer, I had the one described as "wild fermented".
It tastes good, a bit sweeter than I expected.
Still I enjoyed the beer.

My private project

As I wrote last time, I'm trying to stay away from my computer whole day once a week, or as well as I can.

So..I'm thinking about to start writing letters for my friends constantly, instead of e-mails.
Usually I use e-mails not only for works, for contacting my friends also, they are handy and quick, easy to have contacts.
Letters take time for writing and arriving, they need stamps, but are more exciting to receive.

Here I'll introduce cute stationary sets.

"Through away your book" changed..

Once a week, I'm trying to do not look at my computer whole day, the day I call "Forget about the Internet, go out into the streets"day.
I often stack in front of computer, internet is interesting and handy, an irresistible world, but am trying to leave from it as well as I can. It is difficult to me, even only once a week.

The day's title(?) is inspired by a book called "Through away your books, rally on the streets" by Shuji Terayama.
The book was written in 60's, about his thought for young men's lifestyle.
I guess it is in the other words, " Learn about things not only from reading your books, also you should see different world, find out your own way"
He made a movie with same title in 70's, it is slightly different from the book, is artistic, thought of punkish film.

Anyways, today was supposed to be "no online day", but I woke up late and outside is rain as Vancouver's winter weather, still am stacking on the computer..

Good bye mr. spider

spider - my item, the motif is inspired by the spider in my room

I'm doing spring cleaning in these days, when I have a time.
I always say hi to a spider lives in my bed room and I was always carefully to clean the room not to bother the spider, but it seems like he moved to other place after my big cleaning.
His spot is always empty in these few days.
I'm missing the spider, probably he should live outside to be able to get more foods.

Fairy tale in town

I go to see fairy tale mushrooms at a same spot every year.
The other day in this year I went the spot in the middle of a long walk, sadly I couldn't see them.
It looked like they were just destoroyed by somebody.
I was shocked by looking at the broken mushrooms while and I kept walk.
After long, long walk I found a lot of new fairy tale mushrooms spots under the walk way trees!
People believe we can find fairy tales only in a story book, but I think we can find them in regular life too.

Felt like a witch?

When I was in the middle of backing home, a baby crow fell off on a road, in front of me.

I was confused and able to understand what happen about it, the parents crows were kaaing at me, while a second, a car came on the road.

I tried to catch the bird to save from the car but it run to the sidewalk, I was worried about how to save it.

The kaaing were getting loud and loud, other crows came to help them.

I gave up to save the baby crow and started to walk, and then almost 10-15 crows followed me around 10 meatles.

I felt a little bit shame about crows followed me, felt like I became a witch or a pied piper.

90's, my way of - 2

In 90's, I liked to find small boutiques and stores, specially indies designers clothing were interesting.
Popular fashion scenes were interesting but sort of boring.Because new ideas were dead, designs were based on "revival" in the era. Neo-hippie,neo-mods,neo-punk..

So returning the subject, the indies clothing boutiques were exciting place for me.
They were mostly in small apartments or unique places, some were hard to find.
Clothing were still following the trend from the big wave but they were edgy and inspiring, people at the place were also neat.
I often walked from Daikan-yama, Ebis, Shibuya, Harajuku to find and look at those stores.

My Hibiscus

I have a hibiscus tree at home.
The flowers look like should bloom soon.
The first one was already gone in last week, it was beautiful.
The flower didn't open the last year,  so I was waiting the moment to see the blooming.

Cheese cake hunter

I am the cheese cake hunter..

Currently my best cheese cake in town is "tree's organic coffee"'s.
Their new york cheese cake is so good. Not too thick, not too light.

The second is Granville island's new york cheese cake.
Their one is very heavy, it can be a meal almost..!

Magazine and blackberry soda

I love reading magazines, my favorite is I-D magazine.
They have interesting interviews for fashionistas and subcultural people every issue.
Their web site is cool too.

By the way I often make treats.
The other day I made black berry soda with my homemade Jam.
To make it, put in the jam in your favorite glass and pour soda, stir it.
If you desired, put on the peppermint reaf on the soda.
Its very easy and great for refreshment.

Thank you!

In these a few days here, the weather became like a winter.
Dry and sunny, crisp wind - It remind me Japanese early winter.

The other day, when I took a seat on a bus and I saw a person was wearing my hat.
I felt happy to see the scene and it makes my heart warm.
I wanted to talk with her but I didn't do it.
Thank you for all people who enjoy my hats!

Silver dollar

I love silver dollar plants. They look like they have beautiful pearl color leaves, actually the pearl parts are seeds pods.

When the plants are in gardens, the pods don't look like pearl color.

They have shells outside, the pearl color appears once you peel the shells.

Iris

I finally bought some flowers.
As I used to wrote about, I needed flower for treatment for myself.
Huge ice cream is still in my freezer so in this time I bought some flowers without changing my mind.
I choose iris. (not like huge bouquet on the photo, I just bought a few)
They remind me Japan.
From our tradition, Japanese put iris leaves in bath in early May.

I didn't put them in the bath but they show me beautiful brooming in this morning.
